Vegan food with a sexy twist
Atlanta may be known for barbecue and lemon pepper wings at adult entertainment establishments, but veganism is giving the drum and flat combo a run for its money. ‘Slutty Vegan’, a food truck powerhouse turned restaurant, is driving circles around the Atlanta food market – annihilating stigmas attached to clean eating. Southern cities are known for soul food – rich in history but filled with fried chicken, barbecue and yes, wings. But Pinky Cole, Slutty Vegan pioneer, has created healthy food with a sexy twist, attracting hundreds to her pop-up locations and new storefront.

Some wait in line for sneakers, others wait in line for burgers
Slutty Vegan dominates social media – a marketing tool that will surely drive brand awareness and revenue if executed correctly, and Slutty Vegan has figured it out. By posting risqué photos to the business Instagram page, Slutty Vegan sparks interest and curiosity, garnering over 140,000 followers. Each of these followers are tuned into the brand, anticipating the next post announcing the truck’s pop-up location or restaurant experience.

Posts are dropped sporadically, creating a feel of surprise and exclusivity, the same way people wait for exclusive products to release. Additionally, Cole partners with celebrities online to promote the slutty burgers and has a star studded support team including: Tyler Perry, Will Packer, Tiffany Haddish, Iyanla Vanzant, Keisha Lance-Bottoms, Porsha Williams, Jermaine Dupri and Snoop Dogg – all taking a bite out of the delicious plant based patties.

What makes this vegan venture so interesting is its undeniable popularity. Pinky Cole’s marketing is the key behind the sexy sensation, implementing risque taglines because honestly, sex sales. Cole enjoys pairing tasty burgers with erotic names like Ménage à Trois and the One Night Stand. But this is all purposeful: food is an addiction, as well as a certain physical activity. Once embracing the suggestive naming of each food item, then selecting the raunchy burger of your choice, consumers enter a shameless world of sex and veganism – an addictive combination.

Numbers don’t lie
Cole managed to hop on and control a bandwagon that’s steadily growing in popularity. Plant-based food sales rose 20% in 2018 compared to the year before, and 2019 is expecting similar metrics if not more. Nielsen reports that plant-based foods are flying off the shelf, a reflection of the health craze sweeping across the U.S., and Slutty Vegan is right on time.
