Apple’s Launching a Subscription Service and Pubs are Pissed

Apple is on to a new venture, creating a one stop shop for mags and readers. The trillion dollar tech giant plans to launch a subscription service with full access to publications.  Integrating a swarm of pubs into one mega hub, Apple fights to be the king of leisure – hoarding music, news and entertainment literature. Here’s the catch: the 42 year old company will split the revenue down the middle, giving 50 percent of profit to media partners – which they’ll be forced to divvy up amongst themselves. The money will be allotted based on clicks and traffic. Publishers think it’s a selfish notion – Apple’s just being “greedy”. The subscription is scheduled to launch this spring, and will possibly be bundled with Apple Music and their anticipated TV streaming service.
