Watch: ‘Somethin’ Tells Me’ x Bryson Tiller

My obsession for visuals is at an all time high.

As we enter into the summer months I crave ocean themed back drops and sand filled beaches. Bryson Tiller’s Somethin’ Tells Me is the visual epitome of summer vibes combined with a creative flare. I enjoy watching Tiller mimic a photographer, providing a sense of character appropriation. The color scheme is phenomenal: the back and forth flow of nude bathing suits styled on brown skin is hypnotic. Watching ethnic women beautifully portrayed in a music video is rare – a much needed counter visual given the recent antics of YG (watch ‘Pop It, Shake It’ for reference). Although the song is a bit too simple (sorry not sorry) the video elevates its possibilities. The hues of orange and yellow are addictive and I can’t help but be mesmerized by the complexities of skin tones.

Check out this amazing depiction of sun kissed women below, and be sure to leave your comments in the space provided.
