Annz + Alexx Present: New Year, New Board – A Vision Board Experience | RECAP

By  |

With the onset of January 1, and the innate yearning for a fresh start, the average individual hopes to admonish their faults and develop their strengths, while discovering fruitful relationships. The 24hour countdown to 2017 promotes relief for those burying the past, and possibly moments of anxiousness for those excited for the future. When the ball drops, the crowd cheers, and fireworks light up the sky, and the entire human race is invited into an atmosphere that promotes new beginnings.

In preparation for the next 365 days, have you evaluated your approach to life? Have you crafted a plan that will push you to new heights and greater levels of success? You might yearn for personal growth and financial prosperity. You may desire a better relationship with family and friends, or a personal travel buddy that will explore the ends of the Earth with you. Whatever it is you want for your new year, prepare for the change you wish to see in your life.

But is your form of preparation a promising one? Will you truly experience advancement through your personal form of methodical planning?

There are those that believe through “thought” their ideal reality will manifest. And although your thoughts are extremely powerful, there is nothing more magical than thought aligned with action.

Each of my wants, I write them down. All of my dreams, whether they be daily, weekly, or yearly desires are noted somewhere in a planner or posted on the back of my bedroom door. At one point I was so comfortable within the world that I took a picture of my goals and posted the pic to my Instagram account, allowing my followers to hold me accountable. I’ve since disengaged from such vulnerability, instead opting to simply achieve my goals and occasionally post climatic moments.

But a vision board, that’s different. A vision board serves as a creative medium that allows people to interpret your goals, while still maintaining a sense of privacy. Yes you may have glued a large red heart filled with glitter to your poster board, but it may simply represent your love for self, your love for God, or your love for life in general. Or it could be your unyielding crush on the girl next door who barely knows your name. You’re allotted to provide enough information to artistically express yourself, but not so much you feel exposed.

Hence, the creation of

New Year, New Board – A Vision Board Experience.

New Year, New Board served as an introductory event to the establishment of Annz + Alexx, a co-partnering creative brand focused on the development of content and interactive experiences. This Women Empowered duo prides itself on its ability to fuel the culture, creating dynamic happenings that encourage collaboration, networking, and creativity.

Hosting the first annual New Year, New Board experience was a blast. The team successfully entertained over 50 guests on December 27, 2016, encouraging each of them to craft their dreams creatively.

From 7 – 11 PM guests grabbed poster boards, markers, glue sticks, mags and glitter, and dove deep into materializing their dreams.

Music sounded from the DJ Booth while participants enjoyed punch, delectables, and a champagne toast.

The event took place at the MyAvana headquarters – a hair care company that specializes in hair care maintenance. The founder of MyAvana, Candace Mitchell, gladly contributed to the event’s success, raffling off two MyAvana hair care kits as well as participating in the vision board experience.

After grabbing a few photo opps in front of the crafted back drop, nabbing a few cupcakes, and finishing off the champ, attendees were pleased with their final product and excited to receive an inspirational take away.
